La Oficina de Administración y Presupuesto (OMB) ha emitido directrices para que los organismos federales refuercen el uso eficaz y adecuado de la IA, promuevan la innovación en IA y gestionen los riesgos de la IA en el Gobierno federal.

Del 2 de noviembre al 5 de diciembre de 2023, la OMB puso a disposición del público una propuesta de política para recabar opiniones. El 28 de marzo de 2024, la OMB presentó la política final, en la que se incorporan muchas de las perspectivas y sugerencias ofrecidas durante el período de comentarios.
